Missed seeing everyone this Thanksgiving/Christmas in Washington! I am glad that I got to talk to many of you and hear all the fun going on in the background. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the wadded paper throwing on our behalf. I recently saw in an AOL article, that there was a family from St. Louis that has the same tradition...really! Must be a midwest tradition.
Leigh went to visit Tommy in Sebring, Florida for Thanksgiving. I volunteered for a Thanksgiving outreach program that delivered over 600 meals to homeless and shut-ins, then went with the McMullens to the Albers home for turkey dinner, and then to Shari and Gunnar's for dessert.
Leigh will be home at the end of this week for Christmas break and I am looking forward to having her home. Mom and dad will be here this Friday. The weather has been wonderful and I know they will enjoy being here and enjoying a "Florida winter!" We can't wait to see them!
All is well with us. Buster has not grown in the past year. Thank goodness! He is just over a 100 pounds and is a great companion and security system. The chewing stage is pretty much over, however he did manage to chew the hoses to the ice/cooling pack for my knee...I can still use it, it just leaks ice cold water while I am using it. The knee surgery was more than I had anticipated, but, I am finally seeing some improvement.
Thank you to everyone who was able to contribute to the Birthday book that Leigh made for me for my 55th birthday. It is beautiful and I will cherish it always. Thank you Leigh for putting it together.
Yes, 55....a milestone birthday. It also means that I can move into the Lake San Marino park with mom and dad. Although, I don't know if I could keep up with them!
Looking forward to using this blog and sharing news and photos in the future! Thank you to everyone who helped to bring this idea into reality!
Love and miss everyone. Have a joyous and blessed holiday!
